How It Works

Place your dog's favorite treats or kibble in the built-in drawer at the base of the board. Your dog naturally scratches toward the treat scent, filing their nail tips against the 80-grit sandpaper surface with every pass. No holding, no forcing, no trauma. Repeat daily for 3–5 sessions and most dogs develop the habit entirely on their own.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

What about back paws?

Good news — back nails naturally wear down faster from walking, so they rarely need trimming as often as front paws. The PawEase Board handles the front paws which grow the fastest and cause the most problems. Most dog owners find they only need to file back paws a couple times a year!

Will it hurt my dog's paw pads?

No. The sandpaper only files the nail tip when your dog scratches at their natural angle. The pads stay safe because they don't make sustained contact with the surface. Always supervise the first few sessions.

Do I have to hold the board while my dog uses it?

For the first few training sessions we recommend placing your foot gently on the board to keep it steady while your dog is learning. Once your dog gets the hang of it and scratches with more control you can step back and let them use it on their own. Most owners stop holding it within the first week.

What if my dog won't use it?

Most dogs figure it out within 3 to 5 sessions when you place a treat in the drawer. We include a 5 day training guide that walks you through each step. If your dog still won't engage after 30 days we will refund you fully.

How long until I see shorter nails?

First voluntary scratch usually happens within the first week. Visibly shorter nails take 2 to 4 weeks of regular use. Dogs with very long nails may need a month or more.

Does it work for all breeds and sizes?

Yes. From a 5 pound Yorkie to a 100 pound Lab. Smaller dogs may need slightly more sessions due to lighter body weight but the mechanism works the same for every breed.

How often should my dog use it?

Most dog owners let their pup use it daily as part of their routine — usually before a meal or bedtime treat. Daily short sessions of 2 to 3 minutes work better than one long weekly session. Consistency is what keeps the nails short over time.

What if it doesn't work for my dog?

We offer a full 60 day money back guarantee. If your dog doesn't take to it just reach out to support@shopketara.com and we will make it right. No questions asked.
